Día de los Niños

Growing up today was a very special day. Children’s Day was celebrated every April 30th. It’s a day I’ll never forget.

Given circumstances, pretty somber day today though. 30 million people in the US are officially unemployed. That’s insane. It took two years for 9K people to be unemployed from 2007 to 2009. It took 6 weeks for 30 million to lose their jobs. Completely unprecedented times.

There is talk that a vaccine may be ready by January. This is on the eve to a lot of states loosening stay at home restrictions tonight. So as of tomorrow, many states are opening up non-essential businesses. It’s scary because many say it’s still too early to open up the economy.

In fact, after seeing people not following social distancing laws in the beaches this last weekend, the Governor of CA today closed all beaches again.
