Living with girls, it’s just a fact of life and doesn’t phase me. But try having a five year old who is ever alert to all conversations and well it gets interesting.
At this stage in the pregnancy, things get bigger. Everywhere.
So we went bra shopping. Naturally Victoria took it upon herself to show up to the dressing room with socks stuffed in her top proclaiming she too had boobies. Quite amusing, especially when people around us must have been wondering what type of a household we’re running.
We’re raising V with minimum inhibitions but they sometimes come across differently.
Now that we’re on the anatomy topic. We’ve been very open with V about what things are actually called versus coming up with cutesy names for things. So V is well aware of vaginas, penises, and well you know boobies too.
Knowing many times causes uncomfortable conversations like questions about why certain people have certain body parts and why others don’t.
Now I know why shows like “Kids Say the Darnest Things” have been so popular.
This chapter was completed when Victoria ran with excitement to her “Guess What Daddy Guess What...” well, she was so excited to share that her boobies were growing just like mommy too.
Again, just one of the many joys of being a Dad to a girl.
Heaven help me maintain composure without making a big deal of it.
Did I mention she just turned 5 last month? 😳
