Hypno Birthing Mantras

One of the coolest things about being committed to this blog is the support you get from people who read it.

I write this blog and do it in lieu of drinking. It’s my therapy.

But I’ve gotta say that it opens up a whole new world to things you didn’t know existed. I totally believe in the you don’t know what you don’t know. Right? In fact, it’s how we grow. Ray Kroc himself once said, when you’re green, you’re growing; when you’re not, you rot. So so so true.

So I do have to say that this little project of mine while excruciatingly time-consuming, it has giving me so much more in return.

It’s a way for me to express how I feel, but also to organize and make me reflect. And it may be boring I know. Who wants to read rants from a pregnant husband anyway right?

We’re not the ones going through the crazy journey of childbirth so the credibility isn’t there. But I submit to you that we are the #1 influencers and coaches for its outcome. It’s not only a privilege but an outright responsibility we have as Dads and hubbys.

So one of my readers reached out this week with an incredible idea that I had never heard of. Enter Hypnobirthing into the discussion.

This practice is basically an approach to further promote a relaxed state of mind that nurtures calmness and confidence once the game starts with the big C-word in this journey. The ever pesky yet so necessary contractions.

There is tons of info out there on the practice of hypnobirthing. For one, we are starting with repeating mantras that reinforce the calmness and relaxation most beneficial for childbirth.

I’ll be reviewing so mantras by Alison Burton. You can read these online and read them with your significant other in the evenings before going to sleep.

I would recommend you go all out and listen to music too. There are amazing playlists on Spotify that focus exactly on this very topic! Just search “Labor Playlist” or “hypnobirthing mantras” or just hypnobirthing.

Wife has already requested music in the room as part of her Birth Plan. So I guess my Mexican country (rancheras) will be replaced without these more appropriate tunes during delivery. Sorry Ramon Ayala.

Hypnobirthing for a calm, comfortable, and relaxed birth. How cool is that!
